Ronald Steriti
Addressing weight problems is a complex issue that involves searching for the cause and using supplements specific for that.

Excess cortisol is associated mostly with stress and is the major secretion of the adrenal glands, which also produce the sex hormones. The primary glands for producing sex hormones, however, are the testes and ovaries.

For most people, what happens is the sex hormones become unbalanced and the adrenal glands are called in to help. This results in fatigue.

Addressing adrenal fatigue (aka mild Addison's Disease) is a cornerstone of naturopathic therapies. Specialty lab tests are available to measure all of the hormones: cortisol and DHEA, all three estrogens, progesterone, and testosterone.

The naturopathic protocol would include supplements to balance the hormones (black cohosh for women, saw palmetto for men, DIM, etc) and supplements to support the adrenal glands (licorice, ashwagandha, ginseng, vitamin B5, etc).
