MASUM INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTS-BASED ACTIVISM (MITRA)
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NATIONAL COURSE ON WOMEN’S RIGHTS
(April 18-28, 2007 – Pune)
The MITRA project of Mahila Sarvangeen Utkarsh Mandal (MASUM), a rural women’s organization working in drought prone villages of Maharashtra since 1987, announces the first of its series of national level training courses on human rights and the rights based approach. Please see the attached brochure for details on these trainings. The language of the course will be Hindi. The Hindi and English versions of the brochure as well as the application form will soon also be uploaded onto website www.masum-india.org .
The course on Women’s Rights will be held in Pune from April 18-28, 2007. Participants from NGOs, CBOs or people’s organizations working at the community level within India are encouraged to apply. The last date for application for this particular course is February 12, 2007.
The registration fee is Rs 1500 per participant (some waivers for non-funded groups are available). All other expenses such as travel (three tier AC train fare), accommodation, food and cost of course material will be taken care of by MASUM from the funding support provided by the Ford Foundation, New Delhi.
