On November 1st, our Radio Station in Mysore was attacked by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike.

Need to know what should be ideal to do with them. Currently we have lodged an FIR and 20 people are arrested.

Welcome all comments, please mail me on pd935sfm at gmail dot com

Thanks and regards,

Sathish

This is not pro-Kannada, but anti-other languages which is narrow minded and absurdity. Another MNS & Raj Thackery style which needs to go into that same blog i guess.

These are the true illiterates and the bane of this country. The poor farmer (who everyone claims is illiterate) is actually much much wiser. He knows what he wants for his living, and he goes about doing that without disrupting others' lives.

There is a gross mis-understanding by these `illiterates" that by forcing, people will start liking Kannada. NEVER will happen, in fact at one time it was ignorance, but now will turn into hatred.

What they need to do is to show how much one should love a language, Kannada in this case. This is done by encouraging (not forcing) more and more people to learn this language thru other languages. Imagine a day when you would listen to only Kannada in Karnataka. Will make life hell for everyone and would be first cause for people to detest the language especially with metro and near metro cities like Bangalore-Mysore. When the govt is trying to move IT to mini cities, such incidents will only make their eforts go in wane. Thats the first hit. The second hit will be tourism. And there goes 2 major money spinners for the state.

Anyway, there's no point talking sense with such people, ACT and act tough is the only way out.

Imagine, Kannada cinema banning movies with names in other langugaes. I laughed my heart out - sounded silly to me. I was telling my wife, a movie like `Bus-inalli Prema' would be `Aaru-chakra vahanadalli prema'!!! Who's gonna watch it now?

Wonder what they would call Chocolate? (there's a movie by that name in malayalam, dubbed in tamil i think). i think also dubbed in kannada but name was rejected. Strange. Very very silly indeed.

Iam sure very soon we will have a law banning language based fanatism, and such acts would be termed grave crime in this country. MNS, KRV other such violent organisations will be banned for sure. It is time this comes into effect soon, atleast to help people like me who love learning languages.
